China City was established in 2000 with its flagship restaurant in Oriental City Plaza in Colindale, London. Loved by the local residents it became famous with its traditional Cantonese banquets and was especially renowned for Dim Sum, traditional Chinese Roasts and authentic Cantonese cuisine.
In 2005 China City acquired the Poon’s Restaurant in Russell Square and Leicester Square (China Town). In addition to the same excellent cuisine, the Russell Square branch is popular for group bookings, private functions and parties.

China City has a variety of food choices on their menu, from the traditional Cantonese cuisine to the Sichuan spicy food! Dinner here before the 2nd lockdown, service was nice and the food...so yummy!!😋 Peking duck with crispy skin, Mouth-watering Sichuan Chicken, Hot & spicy lotus root pot, Popcorn chicken with chili 🌶 All delicious!! Can’t wait to go back there when the lockdown ends!!
During my 4 night stay in London with my partner, we have eaten here twice. The first time we ate in and it was perfect! The staff were wonderful, and I enjoyed the evening. The second time we took food away and it was still up to the same standard as the time we sat in. Fabulous!! The second course was too good to wait for a photo.
Went there yesterday on the first day after reopening. Absolutely amazing food and fantastic service. Thoroughly recommend this place, China City in Russell Square
